Platinum

Silver-white, ductile and chemically stable. Platinum resists corrosion and retains its properties at high temperatures.

Applications: platinum-rhodium thermocouples, automotive and petrochemical catalysts, glass-fibre bushings, laboratory crucibles, medical implants and jewellery.

Recoverable materials: thermocouple wire, platinum concentrates, crucibles, spent catalysts, electronic scrap and alloy offcuts.
